Dr Lakshmi Narasimhan R is a leading pulmonologist in Mysuru with expertise in treating a wide range of pulmonary disorders like airway disorders (asthma and COPD), tuberculosis, interstitial lung diseases (ILDs) and also sleep disorders like obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). He is also vastly experienced in the field of interventional pulmonology and is well-versed in performing various procedures like Bronchoscopy, Transbronchial lung biopsies, Transbronchial Needle Aspiration (TBNA) and Endo-bronchial Ultrasound (EBUS) besides pleural procedures like intercostal tube insertion, pigtail drainage, pleurodesis and thoracoscopy.
Having completed his MBBS with two gold medals from the prestigious Madras Medical College, he completed his post-graduation in MD Internal Medicine from the renowned national institute PGIMER, Chandigarh. He went on to complete his super-specialisation in DM Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine from the same institute (PGIMER). He also worked for a brief period in the Department of Pulmonary Medicine at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi.
He has also given talks in various public platforms with audiences ranging from the general public to expert audiences. Academically he keeps himself abreast with all the latest developments in his field by actively participating in various CMEs and conferences. Besides academics, he is a voracious reader, an avid traveller and a cycling enthusiast in his free time.
